Do you want to vote in the electoral reform referendum, but haven’t registered to vote yet? Worried about whether your ballot will make it to Elections BC in time through Canada Post, given the recent disruptions in service?
Don’t worry – you’ve still got options to make sure your ballot – and your vote – is counted.
Your ballot needs to be *received* by Elections BC no later than 4:30 pm on Friday, December 7th. To ensure your ballot is received and counted, we *strongly recommend* you drop off your ballot at one of the regional referendum offices if it is not in the mail by Friday, November 30th.
If you haven’t received your ballot yet, you can request one online or by phone from Elections BC. Elections also has BC’s regional referendum offices in communities throughout BC where you can register to vote, get a ballot, fill it out and submit it – all at the same time. Find locations at elections.bc.ca/rso.
To order a referendum voting package, if you haven’t received one yet:
- Visit elections.bc.ca/ovr
- Call 1-800-661-8683 (Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sat 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
- Pick up a ballot package – and drop off your completed and sealed ballot – at a Referendum Service Office or Service BC Centre. Find locations at elections.bc.ca/rso
Elections BC’s deadline for ordering a ballot package is Friday, November 23.
Don’t delay – vote today!
